Outstanding Judge of the Year

Judge Dana Huffman

Balch Springs Municipal Court

The Honorable Dana Huffman, Presiding Judge of the Balch Springs Municipal Court, has been selected as the recipient of the Jurist of the Year Award.  The following are several reasons for this recognition, as noted by her colleagues.

Judge Huffman was recently chosen by the State Bar of Texas to receive the Nancy Garms Memorial Award. This award is presented to individuals for their contributions to Law Focused Education in the State of Texas.

In 2024, Judge Huffman presided over the inaugural "Doggie Court," utilizing the Legal Beagle - The Case of the Stolen Collar story as a reference. Students from Floyd Elementary School who achieved perfect attendance during the first six weeks were selected to serve on the jury panel. These students received a civics lesson on the workings of the court system, participated in a story time, and were provided with goodie bags. Additionally, participants signed a pledge to use the sidewalk when walking their dogs or commuting to school.

Alexandra Anderson, Court Administrator of the Whitehouse Municipal Court, has been selected as the recipient of the Outstanding Court Support Staff Member.  The following are several reasons for this recognition, as noted by her colleagues.

As Court Administrator, she alone maintains an updated docket and does not shy away from not guilty pleas nor Jury requests.  She is a Certified Court Clerk II and has completed NIMS Training, CJIS training and Public Information training.

Alexandra began her tenure with the City of Whitehouse in 2022, and in less than three years, has made an extraordinary impact on Municipal Court while demonstrating her commitment to professional excellence. She wears multiple hats daily as clerk, administrator, interpreter and often serves as the first and only point of contact for court participants.

Through her leadership and understanding of judicial processes, she has modernized court operations, implementing innovative technologies and procedural improvements that have dramatically improved the efficiency, transparency and  integrity  of our court.

Alexandra is known amongst her colleagues as a generous mentor and dependable resource.  She is always willing to offer support, share her insights and help others navigate complex situations.

Landra Solansky, Court Administrator of the Seguin Municipal Court, has been selected as the recipient of the President's Award.

From the moment she stepped into her role as Treasurer of TMCA, she has gone above and beyond those duties. She serves on 4 Committees, and chairs the Building Committee.

The duties of the treasurer are a full-time job on their own. She makes them look easy and is always available to any Board Member who has any questions.

She spearheaded a postcard campaign to try and boost our membership numbers, mailing a postcard to every municipal court in the state. When the Board voted to offer Challenge Coins for a donation, she readily stepped up to monitor the donations and mail the Coins to our supporters.

Her help with planning conferences over the years has been nothing short of a Godsend. From trips to Fredericksburg to look at hotels, booking speakers, to looking at menus, and meeting with vendors to find a venue and caterer for our banquet, she was with me every step of the way.

They say it takes a village, so I always want Landra to be a part of my village.
