Guidelines for Dictum Contributions

1. No contributions will be included which malign, denigrate, discredit, ridicule, etc., an individual, an ethnic group, religion, etc.

2. Previously published articles will not be included to prevent any possible conflict with copyright laws. However, the Dictum page can reflect the title of the article, the subject matter (if the title is not self explanatory), the author, the publication where it can be found, and (if included) the contributor's brief comments on the article.

3. Articles of 1500 words or less are encouraged but longer articles will be accepted when the subject matter warrants.

Style Guide for Dictum Contributions

The Web Master suggests the following for contributions.

1. Use the "Contact Us" e-mail link and attach the contribution as a file. Hard (paper) copy can be accepted but please send copy that is photo ready (ready to scan) on standard 8 1/2 by 11 white paper; send paper copy (preferably unfolded in a 9 x 12 envelope) to TMCA, 1218 Cozby East Street, Benbrook, Texas 76126-3602.

2. File formats, in order of preference, are:
  • Microsoft Word
  • Plain Text

  • Word Perfect

3. Please do not:

  • use multiple fonts or all bolded fonts;
  • use oddly indented paragraphs (either do not indent paragraphs or indent one tab only);
  • use italics, subscripts or superscripts;
  • use tables, charts, or graphics unless absolutely necessary to the understanding of the article (graphics may require JPEG or GIF images).

4. Please use a common font such as Times, Times New Roman, Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, or Courier, in 10, 12 or 14 point. Other fonts can be used but may require conversion and some fonts, such as WingDings, sometimes used for small graphics, are not viewable on some systems.

5. Standard margins are preferred: left and right margins, one inch; top and bottom margins, one inch.
